A European response to the maritime sector's digital transformation
BLUEVISION is an Erasmus+ Cooperation Partnership committed to closing the skills gap in maritime predictive maintenance through cutting-edge digital technologies.
Maritime critical infrastructures — vessels, ports, offshore platforms and renewable energy installations — are the backbone of Europe's blue economy. Yet the sector faces unprecedented challenges: ageing assets, environmental pressure and a widening digital skills gap.
BLUEVISION addresses these challenges by integrating digital twins, augmented reality and sustainable predictive maintenance into accessible educational pathways for VET learners, technicians, engineers and educators.
Mission
Empower the maritime workforce with the digital skills needed for a sustainable, circular and human-centric industry.
Approach
A collaborative European partnership co-designing training, tools and frameworks with industry, academia and learners.
Innovation
Pioneering applications of digital twins, AR and the industrial metaverse in maritime critical infrastructures.

Specific objectives
- 1Develop a European curriculum on sustainable predictive maintenance using digital twins.
- 2Create AR-based training modules for human-centric remote maritime operations.
- 3Promote circular material preservation through predictive approaches.
- 4Foster cooperation between VET providers, higher education and the maritime industry.
- 5Produce open educational resources accessible across the EU.
